Temperament Test

Test

Every candidate for a Service Dog MUST pass a temperament test.

The purpose of a temperament test is to determine if a candidate is able to process never before experienced situations.

An example of this is when a child came running up behind a Service Dog and yelled "BOO!!".   Fortunately the Service Dog did not react.
Many dogs could be startled, suprised, or even alarmed to the point of biting.   You can't blame the dog.
Yet, it is likely that the parents of the child would blame the dog or handler.   This is why the temperament test.

Socialization A crucial stage that will ensure that your dog will be friendly with dogs and people
Typically done between 8 - 12 weeks.

Temperment Test This test will determine if your dog will be a good service dog candidate.
This includes startle response, Walking on unfamiliar surfaces, and more.
If your dog doesn't pass, they cannot be a Service Dog.

Basic Training Sit, Stay, On, Off, Up, Down & Potty Training Not offered.

Advanced Training Extended stay up to 45 minutes, Dropped leash, Long distance up to 50'and more. $30.00 per Hour
Task Training These tasks are the difference between a pet and a Service Dog $35.00 per Hour
Public Access
Test
  (P.A.T.)
The P. A. T. ensures that you dog knows how to behave in public.
This means no sniffing people or food, seeking attention, barking, or growling.

Here are the Final Testing Requirements
The final test is graded based on a percentage of how your Service Dog performs commands or ques.
There will be 1) the basic command, then 2) from a distance, and then 3) with a distraction.
